BBWW post!

So, there is a blog called Big Beautiful Wonder Woman. If you scroll down on blogs I watch, you'll find it. I decided to do my own, with a special guest! Xtra Large Gal gets to be with her favorite heroine! Super fun to draw, if I do say so myself. Needless to say, I have been enjoying my fanart break!

Nickolodeon Fanart? Whaaaaat?

So Netflix is like, the greatest thing since sliced bread. I've been rewatching all my old favorites, including The Wild Thornberrys. I always liked the show, even though it was created and done by the same people who brought us Rugrats. I just...HATE some of the character designs. Just ugly. But that's ok, because I made the style work for me, in this, my rendition of Eliza Thornberry, all growed up.

That was fun. I feel a HUGE fanart session starting here. If anyone can think of someone I should draw, let me know!!

PROGRESS IS MADE!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFINALLY.
Jerkwater Drones has more than just character profiles and a short sentence about the plot!
CHECK IT OUT, PAGES UPLOADED, YEEEEAAAAAHHH!! So proud of myself. I can't believe that actual planning and storyboarding made it so easy to do work digitally. WHO KNEW! I may get a comic off the ground yet! My god...things are happening, wheels are turning!

Also this duck. While I was watching THE THING with Kurt Russell. SO gorgeous in that movie. I don't get how, but he just is.

To an old friend.

I was at Borders today in the kids section, looking for a copy of The Island of the Blue Dolphins, and came across an Alexandra Day book. For those of you who are not aware of who she is, Alexandra Day is well known for her Carl books. Carl is a rottweiler.
The Rottweiler has been the family dog of the Millar family for over 40 years, as I may or may not have stated in my previous post about the Rottweiler papercraft. I didn't even know she was still writing/illustrating these books, and I left the store with it. I sat down to read it tonight, and wept. It made me miss my Heidi, my rottie, my first best friend. I scribbled this picture of her after looking though the book.

It was really exciting for me to be able to write her an email, thanking her for a lifetime of laughs and love with those books. She has truly captured the spirit of man's best friend in Carl, and rekindled the memory of my ol' girl.

Welp, better get out the James Herriot books now. Time for more doggie times and tears.

Pictures!

Well, this is going to be a fun update! I am enjoying hearing the storm shake my apartment's crappy windows. I am also still enjoying the forever cold. But hell, let's just move on to the fun part, which is the pictures!

Last week I headed to Neon Monster, one of my favorite comic shops in town, and saw that someone had painted koi on the ground outside. SUPER cool! I just thought It was the neatest thing ever, so I took a picture of it near my foot, so ya'll could get the scale.

I also had a chance to finally give my friend Kyle his Christmas present, which was this adorable little Bob-omb~! Made by Nerd JERK (My friend and amazing crafter, Stephanie Cortes! Find her on etsy!)Just ADORBS. I am seriously thinking about a pink bob-omb commish for her.
AND NOW, A DUMP OF JERKWATER SKETCHES!
Disclaimer: I'm lazy as HELL and just took pictures of my sketchbook, so I wouldn't have to tear the drawing out, or spend eternity scanning them.
Ok, this first on is Ana, and Christine. Spanish teen, Chinese teen. Both adorable, both fun to draw!

Then there is George and Ana, being adorable together. Long live 90s looking boys with curly hair! (I've been watching SOOO MUCH ROSEANNE.)

Finally, here is a picture of Ana and Lucia, the darling twins! They just looooooooove eachother. I didn't see how much they really looked alike until this picture. So different, with really only minor things about their designs change them into who they are. I'm really enjoying the style I'm developing, and hopefully, it will help me pump out more pages quicker! Here's hoping!

Jerkwater Drones Update

Just posting the finished picture for this! SO much fun. Yellow is such an awful school color. Poor Goth kids.

filler post, while the desk is in disarrray!

My poor workspace is a battlezone right now. Cans, shower gel, markers, pens, plates, bowls, utensils, papers of all colors and sizes...you get the idea. Anyway, the post! My coworker Clint and I were working on an idea which he later decided to opt out of, but hell, I may do something with the girls anyway, since I love their designs!

They weren't really giving names, besides Swamp Thang and Vampire Secretary. Swamp Thang is pretty self explanatory. She would have a deep south feel to her, probably old Creole running through her sludge.
Vampire Secretary is just that. One of many basic vampires. In this adaptation, they would have red in the whites of their eyes, pale skin with blue veins REALLY obvious at the wrists, jugular, and inner thighs.
That's all for now kids! I'll hopefully have progress on my comic with Breena for Paperlinks this week! DON'T forget to keep on the Paperlinks blog now, since it gets updated throughout the month!

silly mini hiatus.

I won't lie to any of you. I'm pretty durn tired! Thankfully I'm still taking the time to work on my cover for that contest, and my written works. (Don't laugh, I can write good.) I always had this silly notion that writing was way easier than drawing. EL OH EL, HELL NO. Thanks to my lovely Kindle, I've been reading more, which has a very positive impact on me as a writer. That being said, I'm going to have a written story for April's Paperlinks!
Breener and I are also working on a collab comic. The theme is "This house is not a home.", so it was a really fun idea. I actually thought that I might be able to get Jerkwater Drones out of the old noggin and into 4 more pages so I could post that. Silly Rachel, ambition's for kids. Oh well, the month is still young, Damnit! As far as what I've been up to, well. PlayingRedDeadRedemption...instead of, I dunno, drawing. It's a fun game. I loving call it Oregon Trail 3, or Oregon Trail 3D. I was also playing a bit of Left4Dead, and tried to imagine Resident Evil with melee weapons.

This is what came of that thought, haha. I always know that I'm procrastinating on shit when I decide that It's time to do fanart. I make a promise bros, that I will have more stuff up soon! Keep faith until then!
