Impressionists at the Legion of Honor!

The City of Light exhibit for the Legion of Honor was breathtaking! Six dollars to get in as a student is CRAZY good! Not only that, but if you get a membership like my best friend did, you can get into both the Legion and De Young museums WITH a guest! SUCH A DEAL!
As far as the exhibit itself, If you've EVER EVER EVER DONE printmaking, it's just an incredible thing to see! There were so many wonderful prints, include Lautrec and MUCHA. It was such a pleasant suprise to see so many beautiful works! It made me feel like a real smarty pants walking through the exhibits and explaining to my mom how they did things, and some of the patrons as well!
Maybe I really should look into working for the museums. UGN...THAT will mean alot of Art History on Eras I don't really give a shit about, but it will be worth it for the ones that matter to me. All I know is, I made sure to add some artbooks to my amazon wishlists, haha! But, It's hard to really express my feelings on the exhibit in words, so this comic should give you an idea of how it was for me today.

Written Story Breakdown!

So, in the beginning of this year, I began brainstorming an idea I had for an...uh...EPIC. Obviously I am lacking a better term, but there are so many things I could do with an idea like this. The elements I want to bring in come from all the things I love, and aspects of things I don't. For example, I don't care of RPGs. I really don't. But I LOVED Chrono Cross, and I really enjoy RPG based comics like Jaephisch and the Dark Rainbow (http://www.studiojfish.com/darkrainbow/ch01/pg001.html). The creativity and the diversity of the worlds is breathtaking.

That being said, I not only have to create personalities for each character, but also show how their place in their world affected who they are as people, and characters.

These are the basic designs thus far. Dzorma (Zor~mah) is the black chick, who I just adore as a character. Her Village will be at the base of a mountain, very bayou like. The animals will all be hybrids, you know, to be part of the solution and not part of the problem. The main pets in the village are Husaliie (Who-saw-eh). About the size of a van, with a goat's hair and horns, but a crocodile face, tail and rear legs. Her attire will be Sherpa like in winter, and tribal in summer.
Misael (Miss-ale), the traveling merchant, is prepared for all climates. He is a master of obtaining what you need or want, and his clothing will be mostly unflattering and large. He will have originally come from a very noble family, but grew tired of the monotony. It will show in this character that he loves seeing new places, providing hundreds of valuable services.

Misael is easily the more complex character, but Pyrea (Pie-ray-ah) is a close second. She was an adult at 5 years old, living on the streets, attaching herself to people that would make food available. She may have been sick and awkward, but she was sharp. Due to the fact that she wandered the streets of the Capital City, she would listen to the scholars speak of politics. At 12 she joins a brothel, cutting a deal with the Lady of the House. As she grew older, her influence became stronger along with her stunning beauty. That is where our Prince comes in.
Amarion is the prince of a dead kingdom. Meaning essentially that with his father gone, and his brother royally fucking everything up, he was left with the horrible messy rebuild. Since his cred is already shot due to the completely retarded family, Misael will send Pyrea to advise him.

It's REALLY hard for me not to pair off people when I comic or write, so I had to make Pyrea and Amarion be forever lovers. This way Misael and Dzorma can be their painfully frustrating selves without BANGING eachother! WOO!

Paperarts and Scrapbooking!

I was looking at Brittney Lee's stuff on etsy, and saw that her stuff may be home printed! Her prints are incredible, so now I'm thinking maybe I will need to invest in a printer that is not a $84 3-in-1! Haha, though I do love her so! That's the really cool thing about Wifi printers tho, I could hide fancypants printer somewhere else in my room, so it doesn't throw off the auras of my desk!

My friend Vanessa does scrapbooking too, so I'd like to maybe do that with some of my many cool postcards to start! We shall Vanessa!
