ANIMATING!?

Cats are easy. And drawing big beans that become cats, well that's just amazing.

Gross affection, nerds.

First of all, I really like the way this lil' self portrait turned out. Not to mention, it's crazy adorable. ADORABLE. I was just gonna be a quick thank you doodle to the boyfriend man, but then it turned into a project of cuteness. I really enjoy the sign.
Next is some practice art I did for Jebediah, the comic I work on with Amy! This one was also inspired by the Playboy issues my coworker gave me, so thanks again nerd face Eric-man.
Lastly...my first attempt at an animated gif in oh...I dunno...5 years?

Ok, this one has a story. I asked my boyfriend about handle bars. When I think handle bars, I think Biker handle bars. The ones that come down from the mustache and are like...2/3s of a goatee, without the chin bit. So...when I got DAPPERBARS...well...

I of course requested pictures, and even got the wife beater and suspenders. He put up with alot of Mustache Ride and Pornostache jokes, and I will be forever greatful. My final thanks goes out to Pomade. No Dapperdome can be achieved without it!

Late night nakies!

My wonderful coworker Eric gave me some playboys he had no use for anymore, and they served as wonderful pose fodder for me this evening. These are all original characters, both mine and Amy Corsun's. They are girls in our western comic! I just wanted to draw them all! NAKED.

You can keep up with our work on that comic over here!

Doodling into Disney...

Yeah...this happened. I am so not in the mood for you, owl from Bambi.

Things that happen, good and bad!

1. I hurt my knee at work. I get a lame brace that I hate. The way Dug feels about the cone of shame? I feel about the brace of shame.
2. I went to Patxi's with my mother. That is Chicago Deep Dish Pizza baby. Only a centimeter of solid mozzarella. No big deal.
3. Boyfriend's HANDLEBARS~~~!!! All the melty feelings.
4. Ru and I were in the car and this happened. Many kinds of laughters followed.
5. My favorite stress relief with my favorite person!

Jerkwater Doodles again!

Larissa and April hanging out it color, and George and Ana having a private chat. They are just so cute, but will they ever be together!?

This is just a practice page as I make the attempt to Jerkwater digitally.

Jerkwater Doodles

It's been fun doodling all kinds of stuff for this story, but these are the newest to the family!

First, we have Lucia getting knocked the eff out by Larissa, who saw her do something less than honor studenty.

Second, we have Lucia being bitchy, while George tends to a beat to hell Ana.

Bringing up the past yet again....

Well, recently I took the two towers over to my boyfriend's place. (No LOTR pun there at all, they were just two computer towers that were busted by layman standards.) One of them had a CD titled "Saved Compy" on it. There is some pretty embarrassing old art on there. I even looked at some of it with Amy, who was there when alot of it was first made in high school, and I had to stop from the shame.

Well, I forgot to take it with me when I went back to the city, and when I saw him this week, the boyfriend informs me that he totally looked through it. FFFFFFFFFFF. There are like...old drawings of characters based on me...on HIM...stupid anime fangirl drawings...just all bad. ALL BAD. High School art student bullshit. I felt violated at first. Angry too, but I feel like that subsided quickly thanks to what he said. "I always liked your artwork." It got me thinking about my progress, and how artists never really seem to like the old stuff that they have done. That isn't completely true for me. Hell, there are a lot of ideas that are still alive in my work today. This little invasion inspired me to start working on One Child character designs again. (One Child is an old comic idea I had way back when. It's one of the ones that Ru always wanted me to really work on. Another reason why it had meant alot to me.)

So I have begun the process of reestablishing my designs again, in hopes to actually get some panels planned out while trying to color more pages of Jebediah, my comic with Amy.

Anyway, I give you doots of background work and character designs for Clea Veria and Izla Lagu.

Clea will be wife of Nied Veria, who acts as guardian of the Sacred Sun Temple.

Izla Lagu is the priestess to the Keep of Ice Lords. Not a position that she took willingly, and is trying desperately to regain her humanity.

The story has changed, but it looks like I'm going to be able to start storyboarding any time now. So thank you, Chris. For embarrassing the HELL out of me, and inspiring me too I guess...

Anime Fanart....

SIGH. I know. Thanks to Netflix, there is so much more anime available to me. I keep thinking I'm not going to be into any of them much anymore...but if they are super available and I don't have to download or buy them...

There really is just no way to hide the shame I feel. But anyway, Hell Girl. It's a pretty interesting anime. I enjoy dark stuff, so it totally feeds my love of creepy and occult stuff.

I would recommend it a watch! If you enjoy Supernatural, or Crossroad Demon stories, you'll like it.

The Maid and the Raven

Ok, so I'm taking it upon myself to write a children's story based on an experience that happened to me one day in between classes. I won't go into it now, but I will properly introduce...
Ms. Daffodil Down, and Prince Arrend Raaf.
I've decided to go with Dutch names and buildings because it's cute, and the girls in the story are all named after flowers. Raaf is also a really cool translation of the word "raven". When I researched Daffodils, I learned a little about their origins and related plants. I didn't know there was like, this massive Daffodil society in North America for instance. But the cutest thing ever is that they were once called "Daffydown Dillies", so obviously I now have a nickname for Daffodil that's better than just Daffy.
Anyway, there is more concept art to come, but I'm due for some much needed family/boyfriend time, so I'll try to get more up on friday!

Finally, some original character time!

Some of my friends know why I was inspired to do this story, but for now I will just say that more explanation is coming with the rest of the art and doodles from it. For now, you get to meet Daffodil, the protagonist of my story!

Goodness Shego!

More fanart! It's fun practice for me, but soon there will be some original character art!

Chrono Cross...

Is greater than Chrono Trigger. FACT.

This drawing was inspired by Lamar Abrams, who blogged a little picture of Kid preforming a proper calf stretch!

Kid was the most NOT annoying female protagonist of an RPG I had ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Believe me when I say she'll kick your arse so hard you'll kiss the moon.

Let me teach you something!

I'm sure you're getting tired of seeing tons of little self portraits, but I assure you, it's almost over!

Unfortunately, they are insanely fun to work on. Eventually they will end up being just warm up things, but for know they are great for Netflix rewatches!

Nurse Rachel!?

I would take GREAT care of you! Pattern borrowed from Spoonflower.com!

And another one bites the dust!

These stupid things have been massively fun! I have really had alot of fun working on them, but this one was easily my favorite one to draw. The list I pulled ideas from wanted one to be a "magical girl". I was like...uh...like Sailor Moon? So ok, how about...a WITCH WITH TONS of BOWS. perfect. NAILED it. Oh blogbert, I have missed you.
